My first earthquake in 1992

At approximately 4:57am on June 28, 1992 there was an earthquake of magnitude 7.2 that was centered near Landers, CA.

Here is the story what happened to me.

I was visiting my family in California because I had not seen them in a long time.  Often in the wee hours on of the cats in their home would come for love in the wee hours of the morning.  I enjoyed giving the attention cause then I would go back to sleep after.  This morning about 4:30am one of the cats had come to spend time with me and was sitting on my chest for quite some time while I petted them.  I was just starting to get sleepy again when the cat jumped up and launched off me like a bat out of hell.  I was like hmm I wonder what hat was all about.  Not 30 seconds later I heard this roar/rumble then the earth started shaking.  I literally was like hmmmmmmmm.  After it ended my brother who was also sleeping in the room asked me.... So what did you think of your first earthquake?  All I said was interesting!  It was one of the biggest ones they ever had in years at the time. Since the shaking did not bother me that much I decided to stay.  I have been through probably 7-10 earthquakes since  but probably only 4-5 that were considered really significant enough to cause damage.  I love them.
